The Three Year Degree course in Arts/ Science/ Commerce shall be spread over a period of three academic years and the pattern of examination is semester system, two semesters in each year.
The following are the guidelines as per the resolution of the sub-committee of the Utkal University for making common framework to regulate academic activities in the Autonomous Colleges.

  1.  There will be semester examination- twice in each year.
  2.  The Term end examinations of odd semesters (I,III & V) will be conducted during 15th to 3oth November and even semesters (II, IV & VI) will be conducated during 15th to 30th April.
  3.  The examination will be conducted for 1800 marks in aggregate at the degree level out of which there will be 800 marks in Honours and 1000 marks in compulsory, pass and elective subjects.
  4.  There will be internal assessment on 20% of the marks in each theory paper including practicals in all the streams where there is provision for practical.
  5.  There will be no practical component in compulsory and Elective subjects.
  6.  There will be two internal assessments in each paper in each semester and the best out of the two will be taken into considerations.
  7.  The durations of each Term end examination carrying 80 or 60 marks is of 3 hours and those carrying 50 or 40 marks are of 2 hrs.
  8.  The duration of each Internal assessment examination is 1 hour.

Important Note:
A student seeking admission into +3 Degree class in Arts, Science or Commerce must have to offer any Hons subject as per his/her choice/ availability of seats, as there is no provision of B.A., B.Sc. or B.Com (general/pass) course in the autonomous system.
Filling in forms for term end examination in each semester is mandatory. if a student does not fill up the form for the relevant Term end/ year end examintion, he/she will neither be promoted to the next higher class nor shall be allowed to take up semester back / year back examination.
